Start with the intended application
A slab, cut-to-size floor tile, wall panel and custom countertop require different briefs. Share drawings, dimensions, thickness, finish, quantity and where the stone will be used. Required suitability and testing should be agreed with the project’s responsible designer or specialist.
Natural variation is part of the decision
A small sample does not show every vein or colour variation in a batch. Clarify the acceptable range, whether matching is important and how slabs or production lots will be approved. Photographs and sample references help communication, but they do not remove the need for an agreed selection process.
Compare the complete fabrication scope
Check whether the quotation includes cutting, edge treatment, holes, surface treatment and packing. Confirm measurement units and distinguish net installed area from the quantity ordered. Breakage allowances, spares and cutting waste should be specified for the application rather than assumed.
Plan inspection and packing
The scope can include coordination of quantity and finish checks, packing information and dispatch documentation. Weight, crate dimensions and handling needs affect shipment planning. Confirm who will unload and handle the material at the destination before freight is booked.
